Torreilles' beaches

4 km of nature, fun and charm!

Spread over three areas , our private beaches are safe for swimming:

    North Beach

"Sprinkled" with blockhaus, dating back to World War II , this beach stretches to the mouth of the "Agly", the costal river that physically separates us from the town of Barcarès.

Lifeguards in season, toilets (disabled), a tap to wash your feet, a walkway for access to the windsurfing - kite surf area, bicycle parking
Straw-roofed restaurants in season, long beaches, rocky breakwaters at the mouth (fish), reefs along the beach (diving)
Follow the track on your left from Place de la Méditerrannée, two free car parks (Blockhaus and river mouth).

    Central Beach

The main beach in Torreilles at the heart of the "Camps de la Ribère" ("river bank fields" in Catalan), natural area protected by the Coastline Protectorate .

Accessible beach

The town"s organisation includes allowing the physically impaired to fully enjoy the pleasure of the sea and to make it accessible to them, and part of this involves setting up adapted facilities on the central beach:

  • a lifeguard station with a tap to wash your feet and toilets adapted to the physically disabled,
  • reserved parking spaces ,
  • a concrete access to the lifeguard station,
  • a beach wheelchair for going into the water and bathing

The blue flag

The three beaches in Torreilles have flown the European blue flag since it was created (1985). This ecolabel is sent to the communes that meet a series of criteria regarding the general environment, the quality and management of the swimming waters, waste management and environmental education.

Considerable work is done throughout the year by the town and its different services to maintain this sign that is a synonym of quality for holiday-makers.

In full safety

For your safety, there are three lifeguard stations for the season manned by Master Lifeguards who watch our beaches from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7 days a week, ready to intervene at the slightest problem and to give good advice.

All of the supervised areas are marked with buoys in the strip 300m into the water.

  • Follow the bathing signs and the recommendations of the master swimmers
  • Avoid young children being exposed to the sun between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Do not dig deep holes in the sand.
  • Respect the surroundings and place your rubbish in the bins provided along the beaches
  • Keep dogs on a leash and obey the rules for everyone"s good.

Let yourself be tempted! !
